A unique process was developed to create these lovely lamps and nightlights. First, a thin layer of opaque black porcelain is cast over translucent white porcelain. Next, we carefully etches the black porcelain away in an intricate pattern, revealing the milky white porcelain underneath. Then, the piece is fired in a kiln at over 2300 degrees F., which gives the porcelain great strength and the white porcelain its lovely translucency.
When cleaning up our studio during the Pandemic lockdown, in a mismarked box we found just a few of these gems that we had retired a few years ago. They are approx 3 3/4" tall x 4 1/2" wide, and they use a candelabra sized E12 base, which holds a standard night light bulb, which is included. They come with a 6ft. cord, and an inline rotary switch. They make a lovely tabletop night light, and create a warm and soothing atmosphere in the room. There are just a few in each style, so don't hesitate!
