For this special colored lithophane design, we take the process even further by hand-applying ceramic underglaze color directly onto the back of the porcelain while illuminated to ensure precise placement.
The piece is then fired a second time to permanently fuse the color into the porcelain itself.
As the light glows through the porcelain, the soft diffused color blends beautifully with the natural shading created by the carving, producing extraordinary depth and realism that feels almost magical in person.
