Silhouette Porcelain Votive Candle Dome

This is a translucent porcelain candle dome; use a real wax tea light, or a LED tea light, set it on the plate, place the dome over it, and create a soft, beautiful mood in the room! A unique process was developed to create these lovely lamps and nightlights. First, a thin layer of opaque black porcelain is cast over translucent white porcelain. Next, we carefully etches the black porcelain away in an intricate pattern, revealing the milky white porcelain underneath. Then, the piece is fired in a kiln at over 2300 degrees F., which gives the porcelain great strength and the white porcelain its lovely translucency. The black porcelain is opaque, and the white porcelain is translucent, so it gives a very lovely contrast between the light and dark when lit, and looks pretty even when it's not lit! When cleaning up our studio recently, in a mismarked box we found some of these gems that we had retired a few years ago. They are approx 3" tall x 4" wide.  They make a lovely tabletop night light, and create a warm and soothing atmosphere in the room. And now I am offering them at a very reasonable price!
